The Holy Name Society of St. Andrew the Apostle parish is composed of men who are dedicated to promoting both reverence for the Name of the Most Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and the personal sanctification of its members by acts of love and devotion to the most Holy Name of Jesus. The parish Society is a member of the Cleveland Diocesan Union of Holy Name Societies and the National Association of the Holy Name Society.

Our members perform Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy including feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, giving shelter to the homeless, comforting the sorrowing and praying for the living and the deceased.

Our parish Society generally meets on the first Tuesday of every month (September through April) at 6:00 PM in the church hall. Our meetings start with a dinner prepared by Society members. A short business meeting follows the dinner. Occasionally, we hold a joint dinner meeting with the women of the Altar Guild on the second Tuesday of the month.

The second Sunday of each month is Corporate Communion Sunday. The Society members and their families meet in the church hall before the 8:30 AM Mass and process into the church with the Celebrant. All sit together in reserved front pews and celebrate the Mass as a group.

Our Society has four officers: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. They serve for 2-year terms. New officers are elected in April and installed in May for the following year. The annual dues are $5.00.

The Society has several large and small projects during the year. Two of the largest efforts are annual fundraisers: Fish Fries on the Fridays of Lent and a Reverse Raffle Dinner Party in November. Proceeds from these efforts are used to support activities sponsored by the Society with any remaining funds donated to the parish.

Other activities include:
• Monthly Rosary and Holy Hour on the third Friday of every month at 6:00 PM.
• Members serving as altar servers for Masses on the Feast of Christ the King.
• Setting up the outdoor Christmas Nativity scene at the front of the church.
• Sponsoring a New Year’s Eve service for families.
• Sponsoring local charities including the Barberton Community Pregnancy Center and the Haven of Rest in Akron.
• Sponsoring Eagle Scout projects for young adult members of the parish.

Membership in the Holy Name Society provides men of the parish the opportunity to meet and work with other members of the parish and to serve the spiritual and physical needs of the community.
